Redistricting Community Forum
Deer Creek Families,
We are excited to be opening our newest elementary school, Knight Ridge Elementary, next school year (2025-2026). With the opening of this new school, the configuration of our district will also be changing. Here’s what you can expect:
-
Beginning in August 2025, our fourth grade students will remain at our six elementary school sites.
-
The current Deer Creek 4th & 5th Grade Center will become the new Deer Creek Intermediate School, which will serve all of our fifth and sixth grade students.
-
The existing Deer Creek Intermediate School will be used by Deer Creek High School and some of our administrative office staff.
-
The second middle school is currently under construction and will open for the 2026-2027 school year.
It's time for us to complete the process of drawing boundary lines to account for Knight Ridge Elementary and the second Deer Creek Middle School. This process will be conducted in partnership with a local firm that specializes in redistricting to ensure the new boundaries meet the needs of our students, families and districts in the most equitable way while allowing for future growth at all of our school sites.
On September 25, we are hosting a Redistricting Community Forum, where district families, patrons and staff can see a draft of the proposed maps, provide feedback and ask questions. This forum will be held at the Deer Creek Administration Building from 6 - 8 p.m., and will also be live streamed on our YouTube page. Those who watch the event online will be able to provide feedback and ask questions via our live stream. We hope you will make plans to join us, virtually or in person, for this event.
After this forum, questions and comments will be considered and used to prepare boundary maps to be presented to the Deer Creek Board of Education for final approval.
Thank you for your continued support of our great schools!
