Journey of Hope at DCMS
Journey of Hope at DCMS
It was our pleasure to host the first Journey of Hope assembly in the state! This assembly was presented by the Oklahoma National Memorial & Museum. They are on a 77 county, state-wide tour to bring awareness to the 30th anniversary of the OKC Bombing taking place in 2025.
Students got to hear a first-hand account of that tragic day from a former DCMS teacher. They were challenged to pledge behaviors and actions that exemplify the Oklahoma Standard. After the assembly, a sapling from the Survivor Tree was planted in front of the school. Not only do we look forward to watching the sapling grow, but we also anticipate our students to grow in kindness, loyalty and empathy towards others. What a wonderful honor for our school!
